Double wins for Big Timber soccer

Saturday, April 8, Livingston got to see some soccer games. The under 19 (U19) soccer team headed to Livingston for their second week into the season. At 8 a.m. sharp the team began warming up for their game against Livingston. Captains were called at 8:25 a.m. and the game soon began. The weather was overcast and a bit chilly.

During the first half, we saw a goal from Big Timber’s Dagon Jacobsen. Isaac Fossum assisted Jacobsen’s goal by simply passing the ball through Livingston’s defense for the beautiful through ball. About 10 minutes after Big Timber scored, so did Livingston. After keeping the score tied at 1-1, Caleb Baker passed the ball into the center, and Josiah Forseth cleaned up the ball and passed the ball between the goalie’s legs and right into the back of the goal. At halftime, the teams talked about new strategies and how to switch things up.

Big Timber kicked off for the second half. The sun started to come out and a slight breeze kicked up. Twenty minutes in, Livingston scored on Big Timber leaving the two teams tied at 2-2.

Big Timber came back with force and Jacobsen scored his second goal of the day by dribbling the ball outside and shooting from 40 yards out. The ball hit the bottom of the crossbar, bounced to the ground and then rolled in. Big Timber left the first game with a 3-2 win.

At 12:45 p.m. Sidney and Big Timber met up for Big Timber’s second game. The wind was crazy-strong, and the sun was in the player’s eyes. Sidney kicked off at 1:15 p.m.

Big Timber was going toward the wind, while Sidney was with the wind. Within five minutes, Sidney scored on Big Timber.

Ten minutes after, Ashton O’Connor ran down the left side of the field and received a through ball from Isaac Fossum. After having received the ball, O’Connor passed the ball into the back of the net. Big Timber held Sidney for the rest of the half. At halftime, the teams switched sides which was a relief for Big Timber.
