Lawrence Jacob Rostad

On Dec. 10 Lawrence Rostad left us to be with Jesus.

Larry was born in Eau Claire, Wisc. on October 19, 1923.  Larry’s family moved to Montana when he was a young man.  Larry was a Harley Davidson man when he was young and owned a few.  He always felt he should have held onto those.

Larry joined the Navy in World War II.  He was assigned to a merchant marine ship and spent time in the Philippines.  After returning home he met and married the loved of his life, Donna Kristensen.  If Larry was limited to tell you one thing about himself, he would have told you how blessed he was to have married Donna.  Together they ran a number of businesses.  They had four children.  Larry drove a school bus in Big Timber for 10 years and enjoyed the friendship he had with the students.  Larry and Donna built businesses in Utah, ranched in Wyoming and settled in Mesa, Ariz.

Larry embraced life.  He saw the importance of learning new things.  He loved to treasure hunt and explore.  He enjoyed God’s creation and found great pleasure in taking time to smell the roses.  Whether is was stopping on a country bridge to put his bare feet in the cool water, listening to the rain or watching a dew drop fade.  Larry had a love for those special times.  As he would share with all — he was blessed.

He is survived by his wife Donna, four children, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 15 in the Community Center in Fort Laramie, Wyo.
