Town Pump fundraiser seeking to help Big Timber

The Big Timber Food Bank is one of about 80 food banks across Montana benefiting from the Town Pump Charitable Foundation.

Those food banks are participating in the “Be a Friend in Deed, Helping those in Need” fundraising campaign this year. Between now and Nov. 30, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation will match up to $500,000 in contributions to participating Montana food banks.

Locally, the Foundation will match up to $8,000 on behalf of the Big Timber Food Bank and funds raised in the community will stay here.

“We are extremely grateful to Town Pump and the Big Timber community for the tremendous support we have received every year,” said Christine Tochihara of the Big Timber Food Bank. “Thanks as well to all our volunteers for their commitments of time, and to the individuals and organizations who have made it possible to keep everyone in Sweet Grass County provided for, whether that is through monetary donations to this fundraiser and donations of non-perishable food throughout the year, or going the extra mile to ‘grow a row’ for the Food Bank. We are privileged to be part of such a giving community.”

The goal is to raise $3 million statewide. During the past 15 years, the campaign has raised more than $26 million, with $5 million in match donations from the Foundation.

Donations are being collected at the Big Timber Town Pumps, Lucky Lil’s, Super 8 and Country Skillet. They can also be mailed to Big Timber Food Bank, P.O. Box 340, 59011.
